Simply put, if done in such a manner, it will definitely drive you crazy. For that reason, here are 5 tips that one can follow so as to detox safely: #1: Less alcohol & caffeine Coffee, tea and cola should be avoided or minimized to a large extent as these caffeinated drinks can dehydrate the body. This applies to consuming alcohol as well. #2: More water An important part of your detox requires you to start drinking more water. Since the body is made up of 70 percent water, almost 6 to 8 glasses a day will clear out the toxins while also keeping your body hydrated. #3: Lots of vegetables and fruit Opt for veggies and whole fruit such as plums, apples, berries and pears. Also, avoid as much fruit juices as possible as this will only prevent you from sugar hits and keep your energy levels stable. #4: More healthy fats The best way to get healthy fats is to eat a lot of seeds, avocados, pears and raw nuts. Not will this slow your digestion but it will give you a lot more energy. Chia seeds are an excellent example because they are not only easily digested but also have nutrients such as Omega 3 and protein. #5: Less processed foods It’s important to give your digestive system a decent break. For this, it’s a good idea to avoid processed foods while also minimizing consumption of sugary foods, dairy and meat.
