A Fitness Experts Opinion on Detox, Diets, and Ayurvedic Panchakarma

Article by Evans Devide

It is obvious that you might be over indulged in the holidays with too much to eat and drink. Combining over indulgence without enough sleep, stress, cold / flu season, poor eating habits, and alcohol simply leaves our immune systems gets over-tired, and our digestive systems creates problem which makes it difficult to lose those few extra unwanted pounds.

As being a personal trainer and fitness expert of more than 20 years, even I sometimes have trouble with the over indulgences of holiday festivities. To get myself back on the health and fitness track, I find it important to consult with a qualified nutrition professional. A nutrition professional is the best person to help and find a nutrition plan that is perfect for me. A well balanced detox / cleanses leaves me feeling more energetic. With increased energy personally I think more motivated to exercise, and am better able to handle my personal training program, Pilate’s routine, and I find myself more interested in yoga sessions.

Our nutritional support team has seen their share of clients who have fallen victim to the many diet fads and dangerous extreme detox programs which abound at this time of the year. We at Envision Personalized Health believe that a well balanced detox / cleanse program designed especially for your body type can be helpful for specific symptoms and also to safely jump start a weight loss program.

Detox, cleanse, or Ayurvedic Panchakarma programs is usually safe and effective in getting you back on track to healthy eating that will result in a healthier and balanced weight. As a health and fitness expert, I am unable to stress enough the significance of consulting a qualified nutrition professional when it comes to a detox program. Trying to control over indulgences of calories, sugar, caffeine and alcohol with extreme detoxification aids and diets can be harmful. Avoid master cleanse type detox diets which eliminate foods groups, are extremely low in calories, and therefore are not well balanced nutritionally; can actually do more damage than good.

Detox diets are not for everyone. If you think you might have adrenal fatigue, pregnant or nursing, less than 18 years of age, elderly, or are not eliminating daily, talk to a health care professional before embarking on a detox program.
