5 Simple Ways to Detoxify Your Body

While it’s true that the body does have its own detoxification system, a few natural remedies whether diet-based or otherwise, can speed up the process.

Of course, the need for detoxification can stem from several reasons: sluggishness, digestive issues, skin problems, other aches and pains and so on and so forth.

So, if you think it’s time to respect your body’s need for some downtime, and do go through a detoxification program, here are 5 simple ways by which you can continue to detoxify your body:

#1: First, you must eliminate all sources of toxins such as coffee, alcohol, cigarettes and so on and so forth. This is no different with eliminating sources of stress in your life as well while also adopting yoga, Qijong or meditation into your busy schedule.

#2: Drink at least two quarts of water every day.

#3: Eat foods that contain high levels of Vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, tomatoes and melons and so on and so forth, which will produce a compound in the liver known as glutathione, which drives away toxins.

#4: Eat fiber rich foods such as organically-grown fresh fruits and brown rice along with vegetables such as beets, cabbage, broccoli, chlorella, seaweed which make for excellent detoxifying foods.

#5: Try hydrotherapy of which one method involves bathing in hot water for 5 minutes, and then switching to cold water for 30 seconds. Repeat this process three times and get into bed for at least 30 minutes. Sweating in a sauna can also rejuvenate your body by eliminating waste through perspiration.
